Well today I am handing in my essay! It’s finished (probably won’t pass though!). I have to go to the library and print it off and then pop to the building where I need to hand it in. Going to do some of my dissertation today as I havn’t done any since christmas. Its going to be good to see all the people from uni, and hopefully alot of them will be at the pub getting merry!

I’ve only got 3 weeks now til hand in of the D word, and I am very very very far behind! I think I’m going to have to ban all things related to wine, dvds and boyfriends. None of them are helping the uni work. I can’t wait til the 2 weeks after dissertation hand in, I’ve got 3 mates birthdays, so hopefully 3 nights out, 1 of which is in a different city so I get to go wandering around the country! Also at the end of february I get to go on placement again, which I can’t wait for. It’s going to be really good to get to see some patients again after it being more than a year since my last placement. Hopefully I will get good one too!

Anyways, the library is waiting for me…..

Well I’m back in the city after christmas, and come back with lots of work to catch up on. I have temporarily forgotten about the dissertation, and concentrating on the smaller essay that is due in sooner. I’ve done 2800 out of 4500 words of that one, and got another ten days. I really want to get it finished by friday though, just for the sake of my sanity, and my dissertation.

The library at uni is packed with other people with loads of essays. Seen loads of people on the same course in there, trying to write essays! Its nice when you see someone else is in the same boat as you are, you know your not alone! I’m planning to be in the library tomorrow and Thursday and maybe Friday, maybe not. I’m really looking forward to all this being over though now! 9 - 5 job can’t be that bad, or can it?!

I had the dreaded tutor meeting today. Half an hour of talking about my dissertation. I almost cried! I don’t even know that it was very helpful. I’m still not really sure what I am supposed to be doing. By the end of the meeting I had decided a plan. The plan was to drink lots of wine and do lots of work. So far I have managed three glasses of wine, 2 chocolate digestives, and an old episode of wheel of fortune on sky. No work though. Probably not the best idea I have ever had!

Some important things my tutor said include…. “don’t aim to high, because then you might feel too pressurised”…… “little and often”….. and remember to have a least a few days off from doing work over christmas. Cos I didn’t already know that?!

 The plan for the next week is to do lots of work toward my assignment, a little bit of work to earn some money, and then to go home to chillax over christmas, while cramming in a load of uni work because its due in really really really soon! A month and a half isn’t long enough to write my whole dissertation! Arghhhh!!

Well…. this is my first post. I dont really know why I am doing this blog. Maybe to distract myself from all the work I have to do for uni. I’m in my final year of my OT course, 6 months away from being qualified, which is a very scary thought! Hopefully this blog won’t put any one off being a student or an OT student though! OT is a great job. You might get some of those vibes from this blog, but then again you probably won’t!

At the moment I am supposed to be working on 2 assignments. First one is my dissertation, 6000 words on something of my choice (spinal injuries) due in february. The second one 4500 words on paediatrics due mid January. Since September I have managed to write a total of 800 words. Impressive….. not! I’m really starting to panic, and really need some motivation, which is why I have arranged a tutor meeting tomorrow. So I’m gonna have to explain to my tutor why I am so far behind, which is due to my lazyness, and not having a clue what I’m supposed to be doing. Tomorrow probably won’t be a good day!

Anyway, if anyone has any motivating words, or anything they could add to my SCI / paediatric assignments, then feel free to comment and help me out!
